S/V Born Again

Born Again is a masthead ketch with a center cockpit and an overall length of 41.25'. Her beam is a couple inches short of 14', and she weighs in at 27,000 lbs before crew or provisions are aboard. She has a full keel with 4' 2" of draft and a mast height of 61' above the water line.

The engine room holds a 2010 75hp Yanmar and an 8kw Westerbeke generator. We have an alcohol stove/oven that we love, and manual pump Jabsco toilets in both heads for simplicity. Our tanks will hold about 100 gallons of diesel fuel and about 200 gallons of water.

We have installed 500 watts of solar by way of flexible panels attached to the bimini. On most days, this supplies our needs.

We have a 65lb Mantus  as a main anchor and a Fortress FX23 for a spare/kedge anchor. Our dinghy is a 10' West Marine RIB with a double floor and a 5hp Mercury propane outboard

We have an out-dated, but functional chart plotter. We have radar, and a ComNav auto-pilot on hydraulic steering. We have a Lewmar electric windlass and a Vetus bow thruster.

Some of our gear was well thought out, researched, and purchased by us. Some of it came with the boat and we have yet to determine if it's the right gear for us. I'm sure it will be ever changing, but as of April 2021, this is where we're at.
